Introduction: My name is Emily Fernandez. I was born and raised in Tuscola just a few miles southeast of Mahomet. I’m married to Mike, who is a software engineer, and we have a son, Michael Jr. (We call him Max), who is 11 and is in the 6th grade. We also have a fur baby named Baxter, who is 14 and recently adopted a beagle named Rosie, who is 3ish! I graduated from Southern Illinois University in May 2008 with my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education. After graduation, I was able to teach a variety of age groups, from 3 year olds to 1st grade while we moved to duty stations in Florida, Virginia, and even Japan!. Recently, I taught kindergarten in West Melbourne, FL, where I was blessed to receive School, Regional and National Teacher of the Year runner up awards.
